Amougst some of the emasculated jazz that filtered from the British scene into radio, film and television there was some hidden gems. Stan Tracey did some excellent work which he sustained through dedication and single mindedness, Joe Harriott played and recorded some brilliant Free Jazz (his life being cut tragically short) and Michael Garrick who was a pioneer of the jazz/poetry genre. Here though is an album of The New Thing or Free Jazz.
It was recorded as a limited issue (0nly 99 cpoies) 10 inch LP in the 1960s. It has since become a real collectors item and has sold for huge sums of money.
Do not be concerned by its shrot playing time <23 mins, it is worth very penny. This one of those much talked and written about albums that might have been a real disappointment but it is not, it is the real deal and isjust wonderful.
