From Amazon.co.uk

Glamorous Maddie Hayes (Cybill Shepherd) is an ex-model with a problem--her accountant just ran off with her money. Granted, he did leave her with a few broken-down businesses. One happens to be a detective agency run by charming loudmouth David Addison (Bruce Willis). Her attempt to shutter the agency fails when they stumble across a crime and David convinces Maddie to help him solve it. And with that, one of television's most popular partnerships was born. Moonlighting made a star out of newcomer Willis and turned Shepherd (Taxi Driver), who had already found fame through fashion and film, into a bona fide TV star.

Created for TV by Glenn Gordon Caron (Remington Steele), the romantic comedy/detective drama was a mid-season replacement that quickly became a hit. There were only six episodes in the first season, including the two-part pilot, but 18 were produced for the second. The first two seasons attracted an eclectic array of guest stars, including Tim Robbins ("Gunfight at the So-So Corral") and Whoopi Goldberg ("Camille"), who earned an Emmy nomination for her performance. The most notable guest was surely Orson Welles, who introduces the black and white noir spoof "The Dream Sequence Always Rings Twice". It would be his final TV appearance. Moonlighting ran for three more years. While the Emmy-winning Willis would abandon TV for the big screen, Shepherd found subsequent small screen success with Cybill. Caron, meanwhile, would launch another mid-season replacement series which became a surprise hit: NBC's Medium with Patricia Arquette. --Kathleen C. Fennessy, Amazon.com

5.0 out of 5 stars A delightful moonlighting 4 April 2009
This series out of the 80s is wonderful!
Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis are a great couple and you just have to love them.
Maddie is a former now (thanks to her accountant) poor super-model, who has two choices: Closing and selling the detective agency she owns or make it a profitable business. Charming and funny David Addison - a childish detective- teams up with her to rescue his agency and together they make a hell of a team.

Some information on this DVD-Box:
This DVD-Box contains 6 DVDs (1&2 are season 1, the rest is season 2).
Languages: English, Italian, Spanish

Really this show is just wonderful and a must-have!
And as a special tip: The price for this DVD Box (seasons 1 & 2) is even too good to let it go!

4.0 out of 5 stars I like it by day and night 15 Jun 2009
When I watched moonlighting as a young man, I found the quirky detective series great and I would watch every episode. Watching the DVD first 2 season set brought back all those laugh, with the much younger wise cracking Bruce Willis and Cybil Shepperd's foil. It still works, fantastic.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great start to a classic series 16 Aug 2007
Firstly, you will need a DVD player that will play Region 1 DVD's.

This is where it began, 24 episodes including the double-length pilot. First shown in the UK on BBC 2 in 1986 (and rarely on terrestrial TV since the end of the series in 1989), Moonlighting has aged well even if the hairstyles and clothes haven't. If you can divert your eyes from Maddie's hair disasters, you will notice David's hairline receding as the series progresses.

But Moonlighting wasn't about clothes or hair. It was about Maddie Hayes and David Addison's love-hate relationship. They slam doors, argue, yell at each other at the same time and yet somehow always end up working very well together. Added interest is in the cases they solve, which almost always have an unexpected twist.

As well as being a romantic comedy, Moonlighting is also a spoof detective show. The characters break the "fourth wall" and walk off the set. They talk to the viewers in character. It snows in the office at Christmas. All great fun, and both Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis are at their best in this series.

When you've watched this set, you will want to invest in the other three series (or seasons) of Moonlighting. Despite the spoof nature of the show, and its refusal to take itself too seriously, it just about manages to avoid being too silly.

Definitely 5 stars.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nostalgic 14 July 2009
By Millan
I loved Moonlighting when it first aired.
Now, many years later, it is not exactly the same. To be perfectly honest, it is somewhat outdated and very corny. But I still enjoy having the first two seasons available, for that nostalgic trip down memory lane every now and then.

5.0 out of 5 stars Moonlighting - How did I forget? 6 Jun 2009
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Surely one of the best TV shows of the 1980s, Moonlighting not only made stars of Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis but also set the standard for many shows to come, the stars' on-screen chemistry and the wacky writing key to this series' success.

Featuring the first two seasons of the show, this DVD set reminds us how good the show was at the beginning and why it was such a big hit - I remember discussing it at school with my friends the morning after every episode!

A great buy if only for the nostalgia!

By Lawrance M. Bernabo HALL OF FAME VINE VOICE
I still have what I consider to be the best episodes of "Moonlighting" on tape (albeit, Beta tapes). So when I watched the first two seasons of Glen Gordon Caron's seminal dramedy series that first aired in 1985 and saw the rest of the show I found myself wishing that we did some television shows the way they do in Great Britain. A "series" across the pond is what we call a season here, and a show like "Coupling," for example, might do only six episodes in a season. Well, the first season of "Moonlighting" only had five episodes after the pilot movie, and like most series the other writers had problems getting a handle on the show's uniqueness. Only "The Next Murder You Hear," written by Peter Silverman, is on the same level as the pilot. "Moonlighting" was pretty good, but it had its low points and imagine how great it would have been if these were the six episodes that made up the second season:
(8) "Brother, Can You Spare a Blonde?
