"...There are very few authors that make the reader feel like they can almost touch the characters and live in the story but Tim O'Rourke has this fascinating gift..." Areadersreview Blog

When eighteen-year-old Winter McCall is offered a chance to leave her life of poverty behind on the streets of London, she reluctantly accepts, and moves to a remote part of the south west of England. Here she takes up the job as housekeeper to the young and handsome, yet mysterious, Thaddeus Blake.

Warned that he has some curious habits, Winter soon realises that not all is as it firsts appears at the remote mansion where she now lives and works. Blind to the real danger that she is in, Winter finds herself becoming attracted to Thaddeus.

With nowhere to run and no one to turn to, she slowly succumbs to his strange requests. But none of them are as strange as his requests for her to stand each night in the moonlight.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 ECCENTRIC THAD STARS!! 23 Sep 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Tim O'Rourke decided to pull another book series out of that awesome mind of his and surprise everybody. We have been given the tale of Winter McCall and Thaddeus Blake.

Winnie's life hasn't been easy, she has had to survive on the streets of London, having only one friend, trusting no one. She was spotted by Thad on the steps of the Embankment Tube Station begging for money. Winnie has pride and has never traded favours for money. So when Thad offers her a chance to escape the life she was forced to live, he will pay her, it goes against every rule she had given herself.

She takes a chance. Thaddeus only asks that she do something for him when he asks.

Will she regret taking that chance? Can she trust a rich, mysterious, eccentric good looking man?

What I love about Tim's two lead characters are, they are very different to the main characters in Kiera Hudson series and Cowgirls & Vampires. Thad is not a Harry or a Potter type. Thad is mysterious and eccentric and he keeps you guessing. He has built a wall around him that keeps his secrets locked away.

Thad and Winnie are both lonely people, they are a bit like the odd couple under one roof. Thad sleeps during the day, works at night and writes poetry. He became a bit of a hermit after the death of his wife, Frances.

Winnie is quite a spitfire as she has had to survive and protect herself on the streets of London, she doesn't suffer fools and she will lay it all out if she thinks she is being duped. At the same time she has a naivety about her that makes the reader connect with her. She is only eighteen years old and has lived a life without love and family.

This first book in the trilogy has Tim setting the characters and sub characters and villains up for us, the reader.

In this book, you meet a very poor girl in her late teens, who has learned to fend for herself on the streets, and a nice, rich, young man who has taken an interest on her.
So now you think, "Ah, teen romance... what's new about that"... WRONG!!! you are so wrong... not only is there no real romance in this book...but it's the beginning of a roller-coaster adventure for both of them. There's a web of secrets and lies knit around the handsome Thaddeus Blake and Little miss Winter will be the one to start unraveling them, the hard way... running into trouble and most unsuspected enemies.
The question is, once she faces the truth, the facts that surround Thaddeus... will she stay around or will she walk away?

I am so impressed by Tim O'Rourke whose novel `Moonlight' surpassed and exceeded all positive expectations, as it totally blew me away by its originality within this genre. The striking, eye-catching cover is amazing and which I feel is one of the best book covers I have seen! I was anticipating a slightly rudimentary story about a Werewolf hence I was delighted by the fresh, unique and distinctive style with such an incredible plot as to astonish and amaze. Fans of Twilight will absolutely love this book, which is a spectacular debut promising much to come within this trilogy that I cannot wait to devour. The characters are so inspired and singular that they pull the story along, and I was mesmerised by winter's journey from the filth and squalor of London's murky streets to the remote South West English countryside, where Thaddeus resides. Full of electric tension and suspense, twists & turns this was a most enjoyable and addictive read that I cannot enthuse about enough.

As Winter McCall takes a housekeeping job in a house owned by the mysterious, aloof and secretive Thaddeus Blake who is as handsome as he is mystifying she does not heed those warnings that have been frequented several times with her curiosity and inquisitiveness getting the better of her. Within a great mansion that looms like a back shadow, not all is as it seems for winter soon comes to realize that there lies beneath the surface a terrible and great secret. Whilst blind to the danger that she is in winter becomes attracted to Thaddeus and soon with nowhere to run to and no one to turn to, she succumbs to his peculiar and strange requests; including for her to stand underneath the moonlight every night.

Loved this book-and all the characters, Tim has a way of sucking you into each and every book he has written and weaves a spell around you, unputdownable is the only word i can use! This one scared the bejeekers outa me-just a little bit (let me just clarify, i am scared of quite alot of things-so many of you may find this tame lol!!) Cannot wait for the next installment! Well done on another fantastic read!
