I first read Rick Hautala's "Moondeath" when it was first published so very long ago. It was, at the time, one of my favorite werewolf novels, and when the chance came to order it for my Kindle Fire, I leaped at the chance.
The story once again captivated me, but I must say (sadly) that I have rarely seen such a poor translation from printed to electronic media. Typos were abundant. As an example, I saw the word "glace" where the author obviously had written "glance" at least three times. I could go into detail on all the typos, omissions and accidental changes of words that I found, but to detail those errors would in itself turn into a novelette.
The story worked for me, even after all these years. However, the jarring errors in translation to the electronic format did not. If I were Rick Hautala I would be more than a little disappointed in seeing what had been done to my work -- almost, as it were, as if a werewolf had taken bites out of -- and slashed its claws at -- it.
Please, Amazon, either find a competent way to translate a really fine story into your format, or...or hire me and I will gladly do it for you (smiles).
