I brought this with 'Flicka' - both films I watched on Sky first - and although I don't watch it constantly it is a very good, happy and uplifting film.
Granted, like many films about not fitting in, the first 10-20 minutes are about as cringeworthy as it can get. Without saying too much I hope, I'll give the example of Moondance Alexander (yes, that is her name), wearing ill-fitting trousers getting chewing gum stuck in her yearbook and falling over a bin and in some mud slightly later on.
Despite this, it is a beautiful film and Kay Panabaker does a good job as lead actress. Don Johnson, I would say, makes the film what it is. He's by far my favourite character but that could be because I felt Moondance to be too different and awkward at times for me to identify comfortably.
Not one for the ages, but if you like horse films, Kay Panabaker or Don Johnson I'd reccommend it. In fact, it's just a fun watch for all the girls!
