Moon Magic is a follow on from Dion's earlier novel The Sea Priestess. Part of the book was written by colleagues after Dion's death but that does not make the book any less spectacular.
The story continues with Morgan le Fay the main character, who's name in this story has changed to Lilith le fay. In the story she is living in London and on the lookout for a new "priest" to help conduct her magical experiments. This book is more than just a story, it can also be a manual of magical practice if read and understood carefully. Dion Fortune was an incredibly fascinating woman, there is not a great deal known about her as she liked her privacy, or perhaps she liked the air of mystery that that she had. To read her books is to get to know her better, and Moon Magic shows she was a true priestess with a lot of inner strength and power.
If you liked The Sea Priestess, you won't be disappointed with this book :)

Good book. Read it 15 years ago, and still remember some good parts, and still learn from that which I recall at the odd-moment. The other reviewer, well what can I say? Nothing.

A ground-breaking book at the time it was written - around the time of the Second World War - Dion Fortune has as much to teach us today as she did then.
Her philosophy remains valid, and her simple, no-nonsense style communicates as effectively as ever.
Influential within the Golden Dawn and later within her own Society of the Inner Light, her philosophy remains just as relevant today and her simple, no-nonsense style reaches out to the reader and carries him/her along in an involving story which works on many levels.
As for the reviewer who thinks that only those practising magick today have any relevance, I can only say that it would be difficult to be more wrong.

Dire characterisation and not very useful
Dion fortune has an undeservedly high reputation amongst occultists, however after reading a number of her books including Moon Magic it is impossible to see why. Read more
