Product Description

Product Description

The moon is as mysterious to an animal as it is to a young child. A fish looking up at a new moon through rippling water thinks it's a wriggly worm. To a monkey, the crescent moon looks like a delicious banana. To the mice, the half-moon looks like cheese...In this picture book, with die-cuts throughout, the moon takes on many guises, getting bigger and bigger until a full moon shines on a little boy. Only he knows that the glowing orb in the sky is the Moon and it's telling him something: time to go to sleep.

dreamy 9 Feb 2012
By Jessy
This is a beautifully produced book. It feels nice to touch, the pictures have an almost 3-D look and the design has a hypnotic, subtly changing rhythm. It has the lovely atmosphere of a warm summer night. It is soothing and funny and I think all small children will love it and so will their parents. A perfect bedtime book

great book! 8 Feb 2012
I've read the book to my two grandsons. They like it very much and ask for it every evening. It sets a very good bedtime mood. Young children can learn a lot from it. such as new vocabulary, what different animals like to eat, shapes and colours. The book stimulates their imagination and creativity. I would recommend this book for children up to 5 years of age and older children, if English is their second language.

I bought this for my niece and nephew and they loved it. Successful gift indeed! It has a simple yet beautiful narrative, and perfect for a quick bedtime story. Based on how different animals interpret the moon, it is really lovely in the way it can open up a child's imagination. Beautifully illustrated too, with vibrant colours, it really is a wonderful childrens book. A great recommend from a friend. I look forward to the next book from this new author.
