I mentioned in my review for the previous volume in this series how it there descended into the series's worst story arc, that of Lisa the witch and her grandmother. Well, this set exhausts their role in the series, even before the end of the set, and they aren't as central to the story as they were in the last episodes of the previous set, so good news there. This, the 1990 Moomin cartoon series, is slowly getting back on track here, to result in something wonderful...
We kick off with the conclusion to the "Things that go Bang in the Night" story, a conclusion that I waited a long time to see. We do see Lisa finally making progress with her grandmother in a most unexpected fashion. Unusual threats such as primadonnas and hot-spring searching fellows loom over the valley, as well as the dreadful Imp in a quite frightening episode. But all those dangers pale in comparison with Moominpappa's desperation to find the perfect gift for Moominmamma's birthday.
If you've followed the series this far, your devotion will be rewarded. The full list is as follows:

Just as I remembered it!! Bought this for my 12 yr old who is into Moomins big time, she loves this dvd, worth buying!
Brilliant. They really don't make them like this anymore. What a shame.
The series follows Moomintroll on his adventures around Moomin Valley and all his various companions.
It's got a lovely old world timeless feel to it and I think it appeals as much now as it did 20 years ago.
