Each player takes a turn to throw their boule and try to stop as close to the jack as possible, beating your opponents. Each player has a different colour so it is easy to determine who has thrown closest. Practise rebounding off your opponent’s balls to knock them further away and you closer to the jack. I have 7 grandchildren all 5 and under. Had thought of a 'proper' set of metal boules but glad I decided on these which are quite heavy enough for young children and the colours make playing much simpler. I hope the boules will be a good source of fun at family gatherings until the children are about 11 or 12 when I think they would graduate to a metal set.

Our 3-year old loves these. They are just the right weight for her to throw under and over arm. The jack is black in colour - would be nice if a white one was included so that a choice of contrast against playing surface was available. Boules packaging is a plastic frame - I'm guessing it won't last that long. All in all, very suitable kids version of a great outdoor game.
