First Cricket. Who can play? Swingball First Cricket has been designed for children from 3 years, and uses a lightweight bat and ball to introduce them to this traditional game. Where can you play? The All Surface Checkerbase allows play on virtually any surface. Simply fill the base with water or sand for stability and you're ready to play.
How do you play? One player bats - protecting the stumps, the other bowls - throwing the ball underarm at the stumps. If the ball hits the stumps, the first player is 'out' and the two players swap positions. More than 2 children can play - they act as 'fielders', catching or retrieving the ball and throwing it back to the bowler.

My 3 year old son, loves the cricket set, the bat is the right weight and he can give the ball a good whack! The parents would have preferred a softer ball than the plastic ones, as they are a bit noisy. It's great that it can packed and taken everywhere. We've had fun with it during picknick's this summer.

Bought for a recent camping trip this product is light, well made and easy to put together. As it comes in a little carry case the kids were enthralled and easy to persuade to carry it! It's also much smaller than it appears online but once assembled is a good size for kids or adults. Would recommend.

As with many Mookie toys this cricket set packs neatly away but if you have weighted the box to form a stable wicket you have to pour out the water or sand and dry or clean the box before doing this. The set itself is nicely made and a good size for 3yrs upward. I think by 5yrs a child would want a wooden set. The plastic bat and ball enable the game to be played in a smallish garden as even with a good whack the ball doesn't go too far.
