I love finding recordings by little known and possibly, neglected jazz singers. I held off on this one for quite some time because I was apprehensive about the second LP included here - "Oh, Captain". It did not sound appealing but I was very wrong. The songs are all uniformly good (written by Livingston & Evans), the players superb and not only are Moore's vocals excellent, Jackie Paris is also featured on some of these selections which was (for me) a tremendous bonus. The first group of songs which made up the "Moody" album are all superb. Ms. Moore was obviously very much influenced by Billie Holiday but nevertheless she still has a marvelous voice and great style. If you like the jazz singers of the 50's and early 60's I would recommend this without hesitation. I know I'm very happy to have it in my collection.
