This book is actually comprised of 4 books, which are all about mood disorders. There are two about depression, and two about bipolar disorder.

The first depression book offer symptoms, signs, and things to look out for, an explanation of what depression is, and how it is diagnosed. There are different types of depression discussed, as well as different types of treatments.

The second book offers tips on handing a depressed person, including how to identify depression, as well as a list of myths about the condition. It also offers guidance on how to address someone with depression, so as not to upset them.

The third book is about bipolar disorder. It lays out symptoms, treatments, and an explanation of the types of therapy it requires.
The fourth book deals with interacting with someone that has bipolar disorder. It includes behaviors to watch out for and how to communicate with someone that has it.

I would recommend this book to people that are curious about mood disorders.

This book explains depression very clearly. The types of depression people go through and treatments are also clear and concise. How to understand someone going through depression and how to handle yourself around someone who is depressed.

I was very interesed in the a very positive approach to getting help; working with your counselor; taking ownership for things you can do to get better and staying optimistic. The book even gives you daily things you can do to help continue healing along the way.

Being on the outside is never easy when someone you care about is suffering but we have to learn to not take on their illness ourselves.

Mood disorders are no fun and they are definitely not a joke. A LOT of people like to stigmatize people that have mood disorders such as anxiety, depression, panic disorder and many others. However, it should not be. This ebook by Amber Rain definitely brings this to light. There are actually four e-books and they only cover bipolar disorder and depression, but it is still helpful to say the least. There are several articles online such as “how to love your depressed lover” but they do not really go into the science side of it. This ebook helps to explain that and I feel like I can share this with someone so they could help me (I am clinically depressed and have been since I was thirteen). Just remember that this ebook is not a substitute for an actual diagnosis. Just make sure you love everyone, no matter what mental problems they may have.

Once again a great read on how to look out for depression disorder in people and yourself. I am always thoroughly impressed with Amber Rain and her writing. Her books are thought out and well done, even on the most sensitive subjects. This books shows you how a person with depression might view things, and they can be helped.

The part that helped me the most was covering certain phrases that someone with depression might say. You can't always hear yourself, but when you know what to look for it can become scary. I learned about different treatment types, and how effective they were or weren't. I found this a great chapter because I wanted to know what kind of treatments I could go for, and what might be right for me. I liked the suggestions for helping to change the mood, even though you have to realize its not as easy as you think. Great read, and very useful information.
