These recordings from the 1940s show their age somewhat. The performances are excellent but for me not so very good that it is worth putting up with very old sound. There are performances of some works (Toscanini's Brahms on Testament is an example) where even poorer sound is tolerable just to hear amazing music making. But for me these recordings are not in that class. There are plenty of excellent recordings of these works with modern sound in the catalogue - Kondrashin's is a favourite of mine for Scheherezade. Also, do note that the Daphnis and Chloe recrded here is the Suite (Number 1) rather than the whole score.
