Montessori schools focus on hands on learning with specifically designed materials that allow students to understand the world through methodical and self directed work. According to Montessori, play is work and the explorations of children are what ultimately lead to their learning and understanding. Bobby George is a life long student and entrepreneur. A PhD candidate in philosophy, Bobby and his wife, June, founded and run a Montessori school in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the first Montessori school in the state. They also own and operate Montessorium, a Montessori app company, as well as June Books, a publishing venture dedicated to Montessori inspired storybooks.

I love this book for teaching letters. My 2.5 year old will often pick it off the bookshelf. The board book makes it very durable and it is bright colourful and engaging.

The letters are organised by shape rather than the traditional abc order. Each letter contains a touchy feely letter for the child to trace which help them learn the shape of each letter ready for writing.

This book is really great. My 3yr old loves it! The fact that he can trace the letters with his finger, makes it more fun. Through this book children learn the shape and phonetic first. The letters are not in alphabetical order but in motion order.

I would definately recommend this book for early learning.

Good book even though it cannot replace attending a Montessori school. It's based on the concept of Sand paper letters and it's helping to sound out letters. Good for preschool age children.

Some letters are confusing... like a picture for a car for the letter V. V for van. ok. but for a 3 year old, it looks more like a car... V like car? doesn't make sense for them...
the Jar looks like a baby bottle. J for B?

I'm a teaching assistant who teaches phonics to children with special educational needs, I bought this for my daughter to give her a head start in reading, there are at least 2 very serious mistakes with the letter sounds. I would expect better from montessori.

I think it is very good value for money. I would have preferred if the letters were more tactile but presumably the child would be working with other tactile letters. A worthwhile purchase.
