Product Description

Product Description

Terra Pants are lightweight, hard-wearing, weather resistant and highly breathable pants, suitable for a wide range of outdoor sports. The TACTEL Nylon outer provides a cotton-like feel, which doesn\'t rustle or crackle, but retains the durability and fast drying qualities of Nylon. The tight weave of TACTEL together with a TEFLON surface finish helps water to bead up and run off the fabric face. The Terra Pants\' low weight, small pack size, fast drying properties and extremely durable reinforcements make them the ideal choice for any serious adventure traveller or mountaineer.

I am 34 inch waist and the Large was an excellent fit. Used in North Wales during the cold spell, excellent stretch in the right places whilst ascending and descending, no rubbing whilst carrying a pack, windproof and water resistent. I did don my gortex trousers when the weather picked up and the snow came in and the breathability was good. Nice touch on the poppers on the hems to stop flapping. Comfortable and casual to wear off the hills. Searched and achieved a good price.

Comfortable to wear - not too clingy. The elasticated waist belt was a little bit tight compared to the actual waist of the trousers but not too bad. The vent pockets in the side are great too - letting a nice bit of fresh air through. Very robust too - survived a five week rough and ready trip round the world with work.

I have a very simillar pair (same manufacturer). I have had them for ten years now. They have been used a lot, walking cycling partying. They have no wear marks. I admit that if, if I fell of my bike hard, they might be ruined but for normal use they are exellent. The sun has not harmed them, they havent bobbles or got thin. When I got them I paid about 100 quid, and my mate said I was a fool. But ten years on I'm happy still. The dry very rapidly, they don't seem to have faded at all. The ankle poppers on mine let you roll the legs up and have them sty in place at the knee which is great for cycling or hot weather
They may seem pricey, but I'm just about to buy a second pair. Oh yeah and air vents which you can open and lose a the side are a great idea

What can i say really that hasn't already been said. The quality and fit of these pants are superb and i am looking forward to many days out in the hills with them. I also just want to "big up" the suppliers for their quick help when (due to a administration error) the size i required wasn't transmitted to them. They contacted me and sorted it amazingly well. Would recommend these strides to anyone seeking a quality walking trouser

I've been wearing Montane Terra Pants since they first appeared on the scene 20 odd years ago. My old pair of grey and black refused to die, despite all my efforts, and were only disposed of when i bought a couple of pairs of the new model when they re-released the long leg option that i'd bought originally. I'm 6'6" with a 37" inside leg, and they're the best fitting trouser i've found.
Those first pants only had one, very minor problem, which the current troos suffer similarly, and that is the waist belt. On the originals, the belt was sewn in to the waistband, and it would always end up twisted inside, which was difficult to undo. The new ones have an external belt, but it's still a tad flimsy and twists up and slides through the loops easily. My one recommendation for Montane would be to supply these troos with a thicker and slightly wider belt, then they'd be perfect.
Put simply, they're the best, toughest, longest lasting pants for all year walking, hanging out, and popping to the shops, that your money can buy. When the winter comes, and temperatures drop, take a look at Haglofs Rugged Mountain Pant. I got mine mailed from Sweden in a long leg and they're everything the Terra Pant is, just double the thickness!
Don't buy any other pants until you've tried these, in my opinion you'd be wasting your money.

Excellent pair of trousers, you get what you pay for?
- Lightweight but durable.
- Decent zip pockets and vents.
- Crotch area well designed, these don't chafe like C Hoppers do!?
- Dry out very fast, easy to wash and dry.
- Waist is highly elasticated but comfy, as is supplied belt.

These were thinner than I was expecting, but they fit well, are very comfortable and seem good for most weathers.
