This is a good book, but should not have contained so many self-proclaimed hoaxes. Most of the images are believable, however, and come with a decently sized description and introduction. This is ideal for people who are mildly interested in cryptozoology or the paranormal, but is a bit too simple from experts on the subject.

This book is a compilation of low quality pictures some perhaps cut and pasted from the internet with feebly researched commentary. The author for example does not realise that some of the photos purportedly of the giant squid Architeuthis are actually of the colossal squid Mesonychoteuthis. I appreciate that some shots will be from security cameras, nonprofessionals etc so this may excuse some quality issues but that doesn't excuse sloppy research. Nowadays books should aspire to have more info than can be collected from a Google search. I am not sure this does.
