Product Description

"January...Sick and Tired, you've been hanging on me." "Mamma, just killed a man." "Get it on, bang a gong." "2.4.6.8. Motorway!". Go on, admit it, you know these songs. Why? well, sure, they're great tunes. But how do you know them? Well, read this book and find out.

You know them thanks to Eric "Monster" Hall, Record plugger, showbiz agent, now representative to our top sporting talent. Chances are, if you have avoided living in a caravan in County Cork for the last 30 years, then you've listened to or watched someone who owes their carear to Eric.

Belive me, they are all here. Marc, Freddie, Pilot, Tom Robinson? Yes, anyone who is anyone.

As someone who enjoyed the peek into the highlife that Peter Stringfellows "King of Clubs" and Greg Martins "Dirty Rotten Scoundrel" offerd, then I heartily recomend this book.

I stayed up all night reading this book. The thought of sleep never entered my head! Why? Because I was just thrilled by the expliots of the charecters that are so much part of my life. So don't worry showbiz fans. Eric spills the beans in MONSTER fashion!

A monster monster read ! 17 April 2000
Format:Hardcover
It is surely impossible not to admire this loveable football promoter and ex-record plugger after you have consumed all 240 pages of 'Monster!'

This is an engaging true life tale of Eric's asscent within the PR world to the heady heights of success as the promoter of some of the worlds greatest sportspeople in the world. The reader gets an insight into the hard work, trouble and toil that Eric has had to deal with to claim the price of adviser to the stars. As a fan of popular music, I loved the stories concerning his time as record plugger in the 1970's, especially his friendship with T-Rex frontman Marc Bolan. If anybody could tame this ball of energy it was Eric - a people person !

If you like this book, try 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrel' by Gregg Martin and 'King of Clubs' by Peter Stringfellow. Both of these titles show a side to being a celebrity that naturally awes the reader. 'Monster!' is a fine addition to this genre.

Mr Russell Horton of Cardiff has hit the nail on the head with his review of this excellent biography. As a fan of the more flamboyant media personalities of this world, MONSTER was an essential read for myself, and indeed other members of my family. The tales of his rock star connections were truly incredible. This man had such wild times! Eric Hall is a national treasure and this book explains why. It reminds me very much of another of my favourite biographies, The King Of Clubs, by Peter Stringfellow. Both men have risen from the depths of the working classes and have become fantastic icons for the 21st century.
