This book offers a series of ideas to create a number of different monsters out of paper and other commonly used materials. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow, to the point that I've bought other titles in his series for a friend of mine who does not know a word in English and she has highly appreciated them.
Older children (I would say 7/8 and over) may work on this projects on their own. Younger ones need help, which, I think, is an added bonus!

This book too hard for the age group of children I work with (3-5). It involved lots of cutting and adult imput. These books are all the same without much originality. These books should have an age and skill rating system. Have bought some of this range in the past but have found some items quite tricky.

Good as always 4 Mar 2010
A good book that follows the Usborne Things To Make and Do formula - perhaps that's the only problem, as it is a little formulaic and maybe not as imaginative as some of the other titles in this wonderful series. I agree with the other reviewer in that kids couldn't do most o these without adult assistance, but when isn't part of the beauty of these books that parents get to enjoy doing the activities with their kids? Will probably appeal more to (tom)boys than girly girls just by virtue of the subject matter. Worth having if (like me) you're an Usborne junkie, but probably not the best title to start with if you're new to these books
