‘Lots of wacky monsters, slapstick humour and cartoon strips to please.’ The Bookseller

Product Description

Meet the strange customers and sample the foul-food served up at Fuzzby’s monster diner – the brilliant setting for this humorous story from debut author and illustrator, David O’Connell. Highly illustrated in full-colour.

Bright, bold colours bring these fantastic monsters to life!

Somewhere in suburbia, or maybe smack-bang in the middle of your city, there is a very special diner. What’s so special about it? Well it does the best chips ANYWHERE but also its customers are a little bit ‘unusual’… some people say they are monsters… The diner is hard to find, you have to look carefully, in fact some people say only a special kind of kid can find this special kind of diner. But maybe that kid could be you?

When Joe the ‘hooman’ gets a job at Fuzzby’s diner, he learns to bake zombie-cupcakes, exploding milkshakes and not to stare at the customers – even the ones who are see-through. He also foils a terrible plan to sabotage the annual Grand Cooking Competition.

With a Special’s Board that’ll make your tummy churn, take a seat at Fuzzby’s and join the fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars my son could not put this down 6 Mar 2013
Monster and chips was bought as part of the 'world book day' offer. my 8 yr old could not put it down he had read and laughed through 36 pages by the time we got to the tills in asda to pay for it. that was tea time yesterday. today he has finished all 191 pages by bed time... he can not wait for next world book day to dress up as 'cupcake' and for August for book 2 to come out.
I would recommend this for both boys and girls reading age 7 +. At last boys have a book that promotes such a dramatic reading experience. well done Mr O'Connell lets have lots more like this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant and gross in equal measure 15 May 2013
Very funny well-written book with wonderful illustrations. I am reading this at bedtime with my seven year old and eight year old sons and we love it. There are laughs on every page from the gross food that is served up in the 'Monster diner' such as 'boiled fartweed' or 'battered unmentionables' and also the weird monster customers - we loved the tiny 'Guzzelin' family. Highly recommend to all except the very squeamish.
