Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Big Monster sound from a small, lightweight in-ear headphone, perfect for active lifestyles. Made of a near indestructible, all metal housing with a hard black chrome finish.

Lil Jamz Features

Big Sound in a Small Package

Don’t let the small size or name fool you. These little guys pack a big Monster sound that you’ll find hard to believe, even after you listen to them.

It’s All About Knowing How

After building some of the best performing headphones in the world, Monster knows how it’s done. Next, our challenge was to see how small we could get them. The result? Lil’ Jamz. Big sound.

How Does Something So Small Have So Much Bass?

That’s the magic. Not only low, but with punch, almost like being at the club. Plus, Lil’ Jamz are so small and light, you can take them anywhere.

Solid For a Reason

These lightweight gems are solid, and for good reason. Unlike inexpensive plastic buds, Lil Jamz are made of solid metal that doesn’t resonate—so all you hear is the music—with no artificial vibrations to pollute the sound. That’s why the music is crystal clear and razor sharp. The bass is super tight. Plus, these little babies are nearly indestructible.

Awesome, I have had these for about two months now. I was considering various high end earphones but wanted something that was compatible with the i-phone(mine is a 3Gs).I decided on these over the Bose due to the extra functionality of the remote ( Volume +/-, Track skip, Stop/Pause and hands free phone use). When they arrived (on time) they were well presented and looked of a sturdy construction. It took only a few moments to find the correct size ear buds of the many supplied.they sounded good when first used but took a few hours "to break in". After this the earphones really came into their own. The quality to me is on par with my Bose i-pod dock, and have an unbelivable clarity as well as a full well rounded bass that does not over power.I have an eclectic music taste and the have impressed on everything from Dimmu Borgir to Sting, from Less Than Jake to John Williams. They also sound truly amazing while watching movies. Only time will tell how long they last but they are easily the best pair of earphones I have ever owned.

The sound quality is a massive step up from standard headphones, but both my first pair and the replacement pair have 'issues' with the plastics whereby the plastic bits just come away after a few weeks of use (the first pair it happened out the box). To make matter worse, Monster just does not respond to their customers! I'll never buy a Monster product again as it's impossible to get support unless you are willing to call their support desk in the USA because that's the only support number they provide.

I've owned several sets of premium, sound-isolating earphones over the past 10 years: B&O, Shure (x2) and Etymotic. After seeing an awarding winning review on channel Five's 'Gadget Show', I thought I'd try a pair of Monster ear phones as my new budget Shure 115 earphones just weren't cutting it.

First of I found the Monster website and product range very confusing. This probably ended-up with my Monster Cable Lil'Jamz being the wrong product for my needs. The ControlTalk features are not all available unless you use an Apple iPhone (the mic doesn't work, which pretty important in a phone call); I probably should have bought a different product with ControlTalk "Universal" but couldn't easily tell. -1 star.

First impressions with my new Monster Cable earphones were pretty poor. I discovered the supplied tips to be very poor at sound isolation. -1 star . A quick email to Monster Cable customer services and I was rewarded with a free set of sound-isolating flanged tips (as supplied as standard on most Shure and all Etymotic earphones). Like the Monster Cable instructions describe, these earphones take a while to 'settle down' -- the sound quality, especially the bass response improves after a few days.

However, I've had one set of Lil'Jamz returned to Amazon because the slightest touch on the control unit caused random pause/play/skip back/skip forward issues. The replacement pair occassionally cackle as if the jack connection isn't secure. -1 star.

Overall, the performance, sound quality and sound-isolation properties of my Shure SE315 and Etymotic 6i were better but their lack of ruggedness and inability to survive my daily commute across London let them down. The Monster Cable Lil'Jamz earphone build quality seems rock solid, but the control unit and cable feel a little flaky. Let's hope they are up to the job longer term.
