In 1923 Charles and Margaret Mackintosh escaped Britain for France. "Charles Rennie Mackintosh in Rousillon" is the only book available on Mackintosh's years in France. This is just such a fabulous book. It is about the later years of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his wife, Margaret Macdonald, and their time spent in the Midi-Pyrennees in the 1920's. It is an excellent travel guide as well as a detailed description of the artists time spent there. The author has obviously done lots of research and presents the book chronologically, each page having beautiful photographs of Mackintosh's watercolours alongside a photograph or description of the setting either from the 1920's or present day. I highly recommend this book to anyone visiting the area or interested in this talented couple and their work.

Excellent book on Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his wonderful paintings while living in the south of France in the twilight years of his life. A must read for those who appreciate Mackintosh's extraordinary contributions to art, architecture and interior design.

For all lovers of Charles Rennie Macintosh, this is a bilingual book about his stay in France with examples of his paintings. Beautifully produced.
