Format:Audio CD
...was obviously never in posession of ears in the first place. You like Betty AND Size Matters? Betty was superb but Size Matters was a horrible made-for-radio Hamilton-pension-plan piece of poo.
This is MUCH better.
The off-kilter riffs and angry sound make a welcome return and although Page's vocals have changed (and I miss the old style)I think they work ok with the new guitar tunings.
I've got to say though that Bury Me (aka Every Single Word) and Money Shot sounded better on the Gandhi demos. Just the production though, they're good songs.
It could have been a lot worse. It could have sounded like the appalling Institute album Page produced and Chris Traynor played on.

I've seen this album described as a "return to form" for Helmet, implying that it's closer in composition and production to Meantime. The growled vocals of the first track, Swallowing Everything, oppose that statement entirely, but there are tracks whose vocals are more melodious, and do resemble thye Helmet of old. It's a good album all-in-all, and should please existing fans whilst attracting new ones.

I had the chance to listen to most of this album and its amazing!Theres never been a poor Helmet song and by the sound of the mew album there is'nt ever going to be.As soon as you hear the first song you know its Helmet...the riffs....Page's voice....its all as good as it ever was and ever will be!

Maybe size doesn't matter.
Hmm. This reminds me of the crushing disappointment that was "Aftertaste" having liked "Betty" so much. "Size Matters" was, I felt, a welcome return to form. Read more

The seminal Helmet gets even worse...
Being along time fan, since Strap it on, I just want to say, this is not the Helmet we all know and love. This is cheesy metal and almost as bad as the previous album. Read more
