About the Mono M-80 Electric Guitar Case
We love Mono Cases at Tone World, they are one of a few gig bags we would really trust to look after our prized instruments, they are the perfect blend of protection and practicality.
Mono designed the M80 Series from the inside out to be the lightest, thinnest, strongest, most versatile carrying solutions for the professional musician. A hybrid case featuring an ultra light laminated foam shell with strategically placed ABS panels, providing an unmatched level of protection for your most prized investments. Smart features like the Clip/Tuck straps make for easy airport travel, while the streamlined profile helps you slip through the crowds.
Will it Fit?The M80 Fits most acoustic guitars up to Dreadnought size.
Secures Your Guitar In PlaceMono's innovative Neckbrace design provides a level of protection worthy of the finest instruments. (It works so well they've patented it). Your guitar quickly straps in and remains stabilized during transport. The headstock is suspended inside the case, saving the guitar from impacts that could otherwise snap the neck.
Ready For AnythingMono build their cases to military specs, using only high-test materials with extreme resistance to abrasion and the elements. Inside, the plush lining protects delicate custom finishes. So your guitar rides first class while you launch an urban assault.
Everything in it's place. Specialized storage compartments put your gear right where you need it. Deep gussets make sure your small items stay put. And the hidden upper pocket keeps your wallet, keys, and cell concealed on that subway ride.

IMO, truly the best guitar case there is. 24 Nov 2012

As a professional guitarist with multiple high-value instruments, I have found the Mono M80 cases to be the best of any case I've owned. The padding is extremely sufficient in all areas, the headlock is fantastic, the texture of the case is great (and waterproof!), there is plenty of storage, and the backpack straps are extremely comfortable, flexible, and easy to hook/unhook. Also, the case is the thinnest of any kind.

I own 3 M80's, an acoustic version for my Gibson ES-175, Taylor 814ce, and my classical guitars, a semi-hollow version for my 335, and an electric version for my solid bodies. I would highly recommend these cases for FLYING. I've never once had a problem carrying them on/fitting them in the overheads, and their slim profile and backpack straps make it very easy to avoid issues with airline agents.

The storage compartment expands quite a bit when you pack it, which is very nice. For reference, the compartment will easily fit a 13" Macbook Pro, but the 15" Retina MacBook Pro just barely tight that I would pretty much say it doesn't fit.

Great item from a great company + Amazon Prime shipping = 5 Stars!
Great case, I'd buy it again. 20 May 2014

I've had it for several years now, it's holding up well and I like it a lot, it's light, backpack straps are well thought out and it offers good protection for a "semi" soft case.. A Martin HD28 fits perfectly. A Collings DS2 fits and I feel safe with it but the width is a little snug around the lower bout.

Since I'm not where I could check 'em out in person I did a lot of online research and narrowed it down to either the this one or the Reunion Blues Continental. Both offer reasonably good protection .... I ended up choosing the Mono for the roomy storage, the big pocket on front will hold a folding stand or midsize laptop and still have room for notebooks, cables, etc. It has a storage pocket up top, in front of the headstock which is great also, it holds my iPad Mini, business cards, pens, notepads, etc. I wouldn't throw this (or anything other than a good hard case) in the back of a van with PA equipment piled around it but for routine travel or situations where you walk a lot carrying your guitar it's great.
The best cases! 10 May 2014

I own 4 mono cases (2 M80-ADs an M80-AC and a Uke case) and I love them all. The case is extremely well padded with a great support for the bridge. The backpack straps are comfortable, I walk over a mile each way to my guitar lessons with no issue. There is plenty of extra storage and they are definitely as water resistant as they advertise.

Awesome case! Well built, lots of storage and perfect for my business. This case is in and out of my car 6-8 times a day. Expensive but definitely worth the money for a quality product.

I live in NYC and I own a 22 year old all solid wood Takamine dreadnaught which has aged really, really well and has been set up just how I like it (e.g., tall jumbo frets). I love playing it---it's a guitar, it's meant to be played and improves with play---but to say it would be hard to replace is an understatement. Thus it needs proper protection. Well I thought for the longest time that meant a standard hardshell case. However, I have a serious back injury from some years ago. While it's mostly healed up, it makes carrying heavy, unbalanced loads quite painful. The guitar itself weighs about 4 lbs, but with a hardshell case total load was topping 20 lbs. Thus playing guitar in NYC is not so fun. :( I looked into various options, and was considering the different hybrid case options. The MONO sold me with 6.5 lbs weight and built in backpack straps. It carries nicely, has some good extra pouches for a preamp, tuner, cables, etc. I highly recommend it. Unlike the cheaper gig bags, I don't feel like my baby is unprotected, either.

Update: Sometime after I bought this case, I dropped it and my acoustic down the flight of stairs into my apartment. It landed on the headstock! No damage at all. It also holds an thinline or relatively small archtop just fine, so if you're inclined to play arches, you are in luck. I put my Epiphone IBJL Casino and Ibanez archtop in it all the time.
