From the Back Cover

At only seventeen, Monica Seles became the number one female tennis player in the world. As she won championship after championship, leaving established starts in her wake, it seemed that nothing could stop her. Nothing, but a nine-inch knife wielded by a crazed fan of Steffi Graf.

The vicious attack had a profound and lasting effect on Seles. After it, and the second blow of her father's cancer that was discovered only days later, Monica retreated from the world's spotlight. For two years she locked herself away from the tennis world that had been her life. Now she is back.

In this intimate and revealing autobiography of an extraordinary life, Monica describes for the first time the terrifying downward spiral of her emotions;
her fear, vulnerability and depressions, and how she struggled to regain her health, self-confidence and drive and make a comeback into the world.

A true athlete -- An example to be followed 17 Jan 2000
By Beogradjanka - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
From Fear to Victory is a book that everybody should read. It helps a person realize what takes to be the best. It shows what made a scared little girl become the world's best athlete. It shows ways to deal with success, fear, and anger. This is the best book I have ever read, and I believe that everybody should read this book, and in that way change their perceptives about Monica, and athletes in general.

a must read for all Monica's and tennis fans 20 Feb 2003
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
I think Monica is the coolest tennis player of all time, with two fisted forehand and backhand, hitting the ball like cannon and always goes for the lines no matter she is leading or behind. From this book, you had a chance to know the other side of Monica. She is gracious, humane and always willing to give. She is just a great champion on and off the court. In contrast, you can also see the personalities of many top players. They are selfish and never showed symathy for Monica's tragedy . I learnt a lot from the book and understand why Monica was voted as the Sanex Hero of the year.
A Trully Self-Story About Being Honest 25 Nov 2013
By Iwan Yenanto - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
Monica Seles was one of the athletes whom I admired very much. I was moved by her high determination during matches on courts. Reading this autobiography ; I learned that she was just an ordinary person who had dreams, passionate, worked extremely hard to achieve what she looked forward to, but by under such circumstances all her dreams were shattered...struggling in despair and devastatingly lost her bright future...

I was absorbed by her genuinity to tell us how dark paths she had walked on after the stabbing incident. I could immerse into her fear, sometimes irrational worries...as big star tennis player in the history, she spoke honestly in this book...I must highly appreciate her being frank and straight forward....Ones who have been struggling to fight the fears within themselves should read what Monica Seles had been going thru the battle and survived.
