Review

Clever, wise, funny and necessary. This book should be by every woman's bed (Jeanette Winterson)

This is just the book I wish someone who cared about me and my indigent future had pressed into my clueless hands when I was in my twenties (Rachel Johnson)

With her characteristic vim, Mrs M encourages women to take control of their finances and gain more freedom - an important message delivered with punch and style (Martha Lane-Fox, entrepreneur)

Ignore your personal finances and you ignore the means to fulfill your own potential as a woman. Don't do that - read this book instead (Sarah Brown, President, Theirworld)

Utterly essential reading for every woman! Be prepared to take action and control of your finances - life changing stuff (Chantal Coady, Founder and Creative Director, Rococo Chocolates)

If financial ineptitude is holding you back in your relationships, or your professional life, then this book should be the cure. Heather McGregor makes it simple to be really smart about money (Anne Ashworth The Times)

Finally, a book that talks about money in a way that's accessible, useful and - crucially - interesting. Mrs Moneypenny walks us through the perils and pitfalls of personal finance, offering tips and examples from her own life - and makes a persuasive case for the need for gender-specific advice for independent women everywhere (Justine Roberts, CEO, Mumsnet)

I've been looking for a financial advice book for a while now, and upon stumbling onto this book by chance decided to give it a go. Boy am I so glad that I did. It's been one of the best instructional advice books I've read. Each stage/chapter is so clearly discussed with such ease yet precision that you increase your understanding without even knowing it. I wish someone had bought me this book when I was ten years younger. One thing I love is being able to share information and experience from strong powerful women is something I covet and this book allows that fluid exchange of life experience and expertise without compromising passion and direction as other financial books may.

I buying this book for your daughter, or any female friend/family member who is starting university or the very early stages of her career is a must!

This book inspired me to make an appointment with my financial adviser to discuss goals and get a clear picture of my situation. Yes, as Mrs M advised, I had to spend time sorting out the paperwork, but it was absolutely worth it for the clarity and sense of taking responsibility it brought. Worth reading for that alone, but also a great read in itself.

Mrs. Moneypenny has really opened up my eyes to finance. I have bought a notebook to record my goals and have really reviewed my outgoings and plan to change my outlook asap! This book was so user friendly and well laid out. Mrs. Moneypenny has a real knack at selling her organisational and planning skills. You feel so informed whilst reading through her humorous accounts of home life sorting out husband and children.
Some of the advice offered I was familiar with, however I am passing the book on straight to my actress sister and my graduate daughter both who will gleam valuable knowledge from the step by step format and straight forward approach!
Thanks to Mrs. Moneypenny for the motivation I needed to attend to my financial future.

Thank goodness. An excellent, simple to follow, no nonsense guide through this minefield of a subject. Written with a light and humorous touch and thoroughly readable. Aimed as the title indicates, it is equally applicable to teenagers of either sex and to young men. Indeed, I can think of a bunch of parents who should be encouraged to read it. The advice on the ever thorny issue of Pocket Money alone makes it thoroughly worthwhile

A (male) reader.

As a chartered accountant of somewhat mature years I suppose I should know it all anyway, but I was inspired enough to spend much of my birthday reading Mrs M's latest. It is a very readable and practical guide to what everybody should know about personal finance and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to manage their money rather than let it manage them.
