4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, if it's true 12 Feb. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Go to particular websites, rate and review other websites and get paid. Sounds a great idea in theory but I can't see anyone making a living wage out of doing it. Better off setting up your own review blog and monetising it your own way. More under your control.

4.0 out of 5 stars Work From Bed... 11 Feb. 2014
By Ged
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It’s something that appeals to most of us. Get up in the morning, leisurely breakfast, shower and then off to work…in the bedroom or lounge. Yes just sign on the computer and do a days work still in the towel robe. Instead most still have to fight the daily traffic jams or sardine crush on the trains. The author shows how doing what many enjoy, surfing the net can become a real job. It would certainly appeal to students, stay at home mums or those with disabilities, working for Google or Bing testing their search engine results. The author explains what the job entails and how to go about applying, the rest is up to you. Worth considering if you feel your stuck at home.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow. Somebody finally did it. 16 Dec. 2013
By T. Blackstone - Published on

Wow. Somebody finally wrote a book about "how to be a search engine evaluator." I have thought many times about writing a book like this myself, but wondered how to do so without violating my company's non-disclosure agreement. I had no idea that Google released some limited information back in 2012 that could now be put into a book.

Bravo to Mark Westly for letting people know what we do for a living and why it is so important. Hopefully, some will read this book and decide that they too want to pursue a career in this field. If any of them do, Westley's book will turn out to be very important, not only to them, but also to the rest of us who rely on search engines every day to get the information we need.

I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clear concise info 16 Dec. 2013

This is a short but very concise book. It details what is involved in a thankless drudge job. You have to donate about
20 hours of your time to train for the job, then you are expected to submit ratings at the rate of 1-2 per minute for grunt
wages of $12-15 an hour and pay your taxes out of that. Thanks for explaining to me that this job is clearly not for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Reviewing "The Google Rater" 25 Jan. 2014

This book is quite helpful and affordable. The writer introduces the job and gives a thorough description of what is involved in the world of a Google Rater. I find the reading pleasant; I also would recommend the book to anyone who is looking to have somewhat of what of a deeper understanding of this type of position.
