"Le monde en français" is clear and thorough. It addresses both the core topics and the options and gives excellent overall coverage. The two suggested 'parcours' in the introduction are very helpful to see what work is suitable for first year students. I like the numerous illustrations. The structure of this textbook is coherent and the content comprehensive. It is very skill based with useful mention of exam techniques. In my role of Head of French, I personally find the reference to Cas and ToK most relevant, allowing me to gain time in structuring my scheme of work. The activities are varied and relevant, and the length and difficulty of texts are achievable as well as a good preparation for exams. I do very much like the "grown up" aspect of it all, looking like a university manual. I am looking forward to using this textbook with my students and strongly believe it will help me plan and deliver the course to an excellent standard. --Sophie Jobson, Head of French - Wellington College

Having taught the IB for 8 years now I'm thrilled by the publication of 'Le monde en français'. I have used other Advance Materials publications over the years successfully with my students, and this new addition is the answer to my every prayer. It is packed with more than enough material for SL and HL students for the full two years. The layout is very clear, colourful and attractive, with a great variety of literary and non-literary texts. There is plenty of relevant examination practice, with the pages laid out like the real exam, which will help students become familiar with the examination format. There is also a plethora of good photos to stimulate discussion and imagination. I was delighted to see that there's regular grammar practice as part of every chapter, and the inclusion of student checklists for every text type is really useful. The teacher's book also has a detailed section for each text type which I shall definitely use. After years of cobbling together my own resources, I can't wait to hand my students a quality textbook that we can work from!!
