4.0 out of 5 stars A refreshing change for Bagshawe, 9 Nov 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Monday's Child (Paperback)
I'm a big Bagshawe fan, but even I admit that as of late her books have been getting a little repetitive to say the least. However, this has now all changed, Monday's Child is a really well written and refreshing read, I couldn't put it down. Gone are the rich girl vs poor girl plots and in comes a really likable character and interesting story, I think this could be a whole new avenue for Bagshawe.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect sun lounger reading, 1 Aug 2004
This review is from: Monday's Child (Hardcover)
Anna Brown just doesn't seem to have a lot going for her. She's overweight, her boss is a first class bitch and her love life non-existent. But Anna has a determination to succeed in the movie world and wants to change her life around. This new novel by Louise Bagshawe - which could be subtitled "Cinderlla in the 21C" - charts her story from being the office dogsbody to a successful career woman with the alpha male boyfriend to match.

It's an addictive and fast paced read with a central character who has failings we can relate to. This novel makes absolutely NO pretensions to being a literary read; but it's trashy escapism of the highest order - what better way to spend a hot, lazy afternoon?

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Fantastic, 24 Jun 2004

Rebecca Christie (Middlewich, Cheshire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Monday's Child (Hardcover)
I have read all of Louise Bagshaw's books and have to say that this is by far the best. It only took me 2 days to read as I could not put it down! Highly recommended, especially for a holiday read.
