I purchased the Universal fantasy Tarot, and fell in love with the images, so much so that I looked up other decks done by the artist and found this deck. I reviewed a few cards and ordered almost immediately. I have to say, I'm a little disappointed. The artistry is beautiful, breathtaking, just as the first deck. However, some of the images are non-traditional, with no explanation or warning that I could find. Some of the scenes in no way match up to the meanings of the cards (their traditional meanings or the meanings given in the booklet) and in other cases, the meanings have been changed to reflect the scenery depicted. This doesn't not lend itself readily to reading or interpretation as I was confused and a little frustrated. Perhaps with use and further contemplation, I'll develop an understanding of these cards, their different meanings and unusual illustrations. I found I did not care for either incidence, the mismatched scenes nor the altered meanings. Looking through the deck, I had a reaction to some of the cards, but not others. I will keep because I like the artist and his work so much, even on this deck, and hope that with some further use, I will develop an affinity for them . . .
