It cooks fine, but the description says that it is a 5.0 ltr casserole, well, it is actually not.
In fact it is only 3.7 ltr.
It is ok for 4 people.
It could be ok for 6 people, if you are planning to use some side veg/mash potatoes, etc.

It's very much cheaper than most comparable cast iron cookware, and for that price you really can't grumble. However, the lid doesn't fit well, so I need to use foil if I want to cook a casserole for a long time without it drying out. And the enamel at the rim doesn't seem to be well sealed, as evidenced by the rust stains left on my draining board if I turn it upside down to dry after washing up. Other than that, it's a good solid casserole that cooks well and I'm sure will last a long time.

I've been looking for good value and quality cast iron pots for months. These have heavy bases and nice thick coatings. They also look great in my kitchen. I make a lot of soups, stews and dahls and these are perfect. They conduct heat very efficiently so you can turn the hob down a bit too. I loved my Le Creuset pan, which I've had 38 years and used most days, but it's beginning to look a bit battered now and these make a good replacement

A nice pot at a much cheaper price than the usual brand
This is a heavy and good quality casserole pot, which seems comparable to the usual Le Creuset ones but at a fraction of the price. We're very happy with it.
