I like Moleskine - BUT seems that pens and bags ain't their thing. I'm unimpressed by the fell and quality of what I've just paid £100 for all in. Why on earth have they made the zips so flimsy and the inside like a poorly made bed with a rogue sheet! I'm keeping this but I'm underwhelmed. Also what about Moleskine gaurantees - anyone heard about them?

I'm quite a fan of the Moleskine notebooks, and was pleased to see the brand extending into related office and work products. Needing a new bag, I thought I'd splash out on the rather luxurious-looking 'utility bag', with two hand-grips, shoulder strap, lots of pockets and plenty of room inside. The lining is soft and light, the bottom of the bag is tough and rubbery, so in all it seemed both a quality and practical product. However, unlike their notebooks, Moleskine quality hasn't made it to the brand extension.

Very rapidly the leather effect coating of the bag's externals began to flake off, leaving ugly patches. Then a tear began to appear and to grow at the join between the rubber bottom and the sidewall of the bag (it became clear that the two are very thinly attached). Then, one by one, the zips stopped working, meaning the bag hung open most of the time. The tears continue to grow, and so it's only a matter of time before the whole thing disintegrates. All of this within 3-4 months, and without overloading or handling the bag roughly. I've bought bags for a fraction of the cost of this one and used them in exactly the same way, and they've lasted for at least a year or more; this Moleskine one fails to match up in any way whatsoever. It's a veneer of quality, but is actually cheaply-made and grossly overpriced. I strongly suggest you stick to a genuine bag manufacturer before wasting your money on this.
