I've been using Moleskine notebooks for simple sketches and note taking for years. I've always enjoyed their durability and design.
I frequently travel to Asia for business and was looking for somethine 'different' for my next trip to
Tokyo. Something I could take with me when I have a chance to go sightseeing. After searching around a
bit, the Moleskine City Notebook Tokyo popped up in my search results. I had not learned of this Moleskine
product line before. So after reading the specs (96 pages, 5.5"x3.4", maps, railway guide, etc.). I
decided to purchase. The price was right.
I was impressed to see that all the features mentioned fit into such a compact notebook. The railway guide
is in Japanese and English as is the Tokyo city maps. Outstanding if you need to ask someone passing you
by on the street directions. Tracing paper included to trace out your planned routes ... or not so
planned, helping find your way back to the nearest train station.
For the traveler on their first, second, or even third trip to Tokyo this City Notebook is a must have!
The city maps and railway guide alone make it a worthwhile investment. If you're a seasoned adventurer to
Tokyo and know your way around the major train stations and major attractions it may not be as necessary.
But what it will provide is a wonderful place to take notes, reference the various locations you plan on
visiting, and perhaps take you to places in Tokyo you never thought of seeing.
And besides, having the Moleskine City Notebook Tokyo in your backpack or hip pocket ready to bust-out
becomes a great conversation piece when taking a break at one of the thousands of small coffee shops and restaurants in Tokyo.
