I have used these notebooks for many years now and have found them to be indispensible. This particular one is the soft cover version, though you can get it in the same size as a hard cover depending whether you are going to put it in your pocket or bag. The corners are curved, so they shouldn't catch on anything.
There is an attached thin fabric bookmark so that you can keep your page, an attached elastic strap for keeping the notebook together and there are 23 lines on each of the 192 pages. The cover is black imitation leather and looks more professional than those cheapy notebooks that you can get at your local supermarket. There is a little pocket inside the back cover that is big enough to fit a credit card or train ticket.
A very useful notebook for shopping lists or jotting down ideas for your next novel.

I know some people find it difficult to get excited about a notebook but these are exceptional. They retail for something like £10 on the high street. Amazon has a hefty discount bringing this down to a more realistic price.
I bought this to see what all the fuss was about and have found the notebook excellent for eveyday use. The pages are very thin but do not allow ink to go through to the other side of the sheet. The lines are easy to see but do not overwhelm the page and the pages themselves are a very nice off-white colour.
The cover is a sort of faux-leather that looks the biz, there is an elastic strap to hold the book shut and inside there is a little fabric strap to mark your page and an accordian style pocket inside the back cover to hold credit card sized items.
I use a fisher space pen in the book and find it to be a great companion for moleskine paper.
I was kinda scratching my head at what to use this book for but after reading Patrick Muir's review I use this at the gym now to note details of my workout (weight lifted / set / reps etc). I typed up a small list of abbreviated exercises and this fits in the pocket in the back.
Absolutely brilliant books and I am looking forward to exploring other products made by Moleskine.
