5.0 out of 5 stars Oh, Modesty 5 Mar 2009
Yellowstone Booty is the 12:th of the reissued series of Modesty Blaise I`ve bought from Amazon. I also have 10 in Swedish. And I`ve read all the novels several times. So I consider myself a fan.
I am an avid reader and appreciate authors from Dostojevskij and Kafka to Wodehouse and, of course, O`Donnell.
What I particularly like beyond the adventure, the violence, the bizarre villains, the fantastic plots, the exotic environments and the humour is the everyday life of Modesty and Willie, preparing food in the kitchen or visiting friends. They are no super heroes; often they get hurt during their capers. And then they take care of each other. Their friendship is a beautiful thing, especially in The Hell-Makers, where they both are prepared to die for each other.
Peter O`Donnell has a marvelous imagination and has created two outstanding characters in fiction. I believe that he had lots of fun doing it.
Enric Badia Romero lets both heroes and villains come to life in his sensitive penmanship. I love his details.
In short: Modesty and Willie has enriched my life.

1.0 out of 5 stars IT`S A COMIC STRIP !!! 8 Aug 2012
By Einre
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I have various Modesty Blaise novels from many years ago that I have read, and re-read several times but never been able to see any others on the various book sites. A recent "on spec" check on Amazon revealed quite a few titles previously unknown to me - so I ordered four. Delivery via ordinary post was quick enough (ordered Fri, delivered Wed) but imagine my disappointment at finding one book - Yellowstone Booty - is in fact a Comic Strip -type book rather than a novel. Can`t see any mention of that format in the site`s description so it is a BIG LET DOWN, especially as it is the most expensive of the four I chose.
P.S. Now see one review includes word "comic" .... .

5.0 out of 5 stars Comic Strips as Good as the Stories 5 July 2008
By Skip Hughes - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Peter O'Donnell created a rarity in Modesty Blaise. She is fully as believable and engaging in her novels and stories as she is in the long-running comic strips. She and her partner Willie cross back and forth as easily as they go from daily life to the beginning of a caper. The strips are classics. I'm collecting all of them, and I already have all the books. Modesty is just irresistable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great graphics 22 Jan 2009
By Fred L. Curry - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I have read almost all of the Modesty Blaise books, but had never seen the graphic that made her famous. I found this book quite enjoyable. The drawing was almost as good as the plot, both great, and I got a chance to see the real Modesty. Wish I had her on my comics page when I was growing up.
5.0 out of 5 stars John M. BURNS U.K. cartoonist on Blaise. 21 Feb 2013
By Paul S. Power - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
John M. Burns was fired off this strip and that blows my mind ! He was clearly the BEST Modesty artist and was on par with the late Jim Holdaway. I mean no disrespect to the other Modesty cartoonists BUT! This guy can REALLY draw,,,I mean ANYTHING!
So I'm just happy as a kangaroo's hop to see his drawing of the female form, his storytelling and just take a look at how he is a master of drawing hands. Albert Dorne the famous American illustrator drew wonderful expressive hands and John M. Burns is as good as The late Mr. Dorne. If you are a fellow cartoonist check this book out. It is a feast.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best 2 Dec 2012

I only wish the illustrations had more greys instead of just black & white. Peter O'Donnell's story telling is masterly.

3.0 out of 5 stars Modesty Blaise! 22 Jun 2009
By Cymry - Published on Amazon.com
I only give this 3 stars because I like the novels more than the cartoons. But if I liked cartoons, I'm sure I'd like this.
