I'm due to sit my history GCSE in about a month. Although I haven't sat it yet and got my mark this book has been a huge help. Its very easy to understand yet covers more than my normal textbook. It has helped me make excellent revison notes and thanks to this book I'm confident of at least an A grade or above. Definately buy it...

I sat my exam in Summer 2006 and got grade A, close to A*. This book helped as a revision notes book, summarising all the facts for each topic, with practice questions as well. Gives only the detail you need to know, but can help you acheive a good grade.

I have this book it was a major help for my GCSE's! I really found it interesting and easy to work through.
1 more final point.. I was lucky enough to have Barry Doherty as my teacher 2 years ago.. which I shall never forget how good he was... Thanks alot!

Doherty has written the best revision book I've found so far. I'm doing my AS-Levels now and I am using his book to clarify everything I should have learned and understood at GCSE. Read more
