Product Description

Can you live 28 years without discovering you're a witch?

Lauren is downtown Chicago's youngest elite realtor. She's also a witch. She must be - the fetching spell for Witches' Chat isn't supposed to make mistakes. So says the woman who coded the spell, at least.

The tall, dark, and handsome guy sent to assess her is a witch too (and no, that doesn't end the way you might think). What he finds in Lauren will change lives, mess with a perfectly good career, and require lots of ice cream therapy.

A Modern Witch is a full length novel, 81,000 words or about 300 pages.  Light contemporary fantasy with a good dose of humor, a little romance, and characters you won't want to leave.

The next two books in the series, A Hidden Witch and A Reckless Witch, are available now, with book 4 coming in June.

Debora Geary is working on several more books expected out in 2012, if the kids don't spill any more water on her laptop.

I really enjoyed this book, I loved the characters and the magic. There were no big cliff hangers, or twists or sensational battles, but a book will well developed characters and a solid plot doesn't need these distractions. Would highly recommend and can't wait for the next one.

A really enjoyable escapist novel. If you like witches, you will love this book. The characters are warm and likeable and you care about the central romance, which intertwines nicely with the main heroine's discovery and development of her powers as a witch. The powerful child witch is also very likeable.

I agree with previous reviews that there are no twists or major threat to the protagonists along the way, but the book doesn't suffer for this, due to the strength of the characterisation.

If I had one (minor) criticism, it would be that there is (a little) too much ice cream eating in the novel. Were Ben and Jerrys sponsoring the book?

A good read.

The last reviwer really put this book down but I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes it has no evil villans or high adventure it is simply a "easy to read" saga type story about the lives of modern day witches. I would highly recommend this book and all its sequels to any reader who wants to sit, read and relax.
