"'A flavour of Spain in your own home' Good Housekeeping 'The freshness of the ingredients do the talking' Mail on Sunday"

Product Description

"Modern Spanish Cooking" introduces the fantastic variety of contemporary Spanish cuisine with its emphasis on fresh ingredients and enticing flavour combinations. Recipes range from sensational tapas style dishes to traditional Spanish recipes described and presented in an original fresh way by Sam and Eddie Hart, owners of Fino, one of London's most exciting restaurants. Their simple philosophy is to source the finest-quality Spanish ingredients and apply Spanish styles of cooking to create superb-tasting dishes. With over 120 irresistible recipes for tapas, rice, beans, pasta and egg dishes, fish and shellfish, meat, vegetables and salads, and delectable desserts, Sam and Eddie have created a perfect blend of modern and traditional. Throughout the book, fascinating features on Spanish food culture, special cooking methods and Spanish ingredients are interwoven to encourage readers to embrace the Spanish way of eating and drinking. Spectacular photographs brilliantly capture the colour and flavour of Spanish food and make it easy for the reader to present the dishes authentically at home.

Viva Cucina Espana 28 April 2010
Format:Paperback
I purchased this book after a visit to Barcelona, which sparked off an interest in both Catalan and traditional Spanish cuisine. I was recently in Madrid and can honestly say some of the recipes in this book produce much better food than I tasted in Spain. My favourite desert is the Santiago tart, and the Tumbet is perfect if you have to cater for vegetarians, or as an accompaniment to lamb, as suggested in the book. I dip into this book time and again; it's a cheerful pick-me-up on a miserable day, even if just for the mouthwatering photography alone, but it is also an inspiration for those 'What shall we have for dinner?' moments.

Great value for money 12 Sep 2011

I love this book! It's neither a bible nor a very complete book on Spanish cuisine but it is a great deal and covers a lot of basics. I initially wanted to buy the Barrafina cookbook (and might still buy it in the future) but decided to go with this one when I saw the small price. It is small but it's not a problem since most of the recipes are interesting. I'd rather have a small cookbook full of recipes I actually want to try than a big cookbook that leaves me uninspired. I can't wait to try the croquetas, the gazpacho, the migas, the white beans with clams, the lentejas, the chorizo and tomato salad, the patatas a lo pobre, the roasted pepper salad, the leche frita, the crema catalana, and the churros and chocolate.
