This book has been updated and is an improvemrnt on the last edition excellent source of information. I give this book out as essential reading for trainee train drivers to enable them to understand the basics of signalling.

This is a very useful reference tool for Rail Professionals (I am training as a train driver), and for anyone who has an interest in the railways. It gives an excellent insight into the way that railway signalling systems work and the history of the development of signalling. It is very well written in "laymans" terms, therefore this is useful as a learning aid (this is the main reason that I purchased it). The size of the book is helpful too (A5) for carrying in a kitbag!

If you want a compact introduction to modern signalling in Britain you can do much worse than invest in this little volume. It is even small enough to take with you if you want to study signalling in situ.
