5.0 out of 5 stars Great book, highly recommended!! 4 Jan 2012
By AJC87
This book has been great! I'm interest in animal behaviour so have read many similar books, a lot of them have been too complicated or technical and I have got bored a few pages in! This book however has the same quality of information in regards to what you would learn from it, but put forward in a much more user friedly way which keeps you interested and wanting to read more. I will be buying other books by this author.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Modern Dog's Life 12 Feb 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I did not find this book very good at all as it did not live up to the recommendation given by the author of In Defense Of Dogs nor the blurb on the cover.
None of the chapters gave a particularly useful or practical information on how to do the best for your dog, it was all a little vague and overly generalized.
The best bit about this book was the cover - very good title and cute photograph - and the chapter headings as these generally addressed the kind of topics a modern day dog owner would like more information about. However the chapter content fell way short of the mark for me - my advice buy another book!

5.0 out of 5 stars The funniest educational book I've ever read!!! 2 Nov 2011
By JAS - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
As the title suggests this is the funniest educational book that I have ever read. Whilst I haven't quite finished it yet, I have found that it is very straight to the point and makes you sit back and think about life from your dog's perspective. Whilst reading I often found myself looking at my dog going, ohh that's why you do that...how interesting. I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves their dog enough to want the best life for their dog as a dog and not humanise them. My dog is certainly happier and by far more responsive to me as a leader based on the suggestions I have read in this book. Our relationship is a lot stronger thanks to this book. Full credit to the author, Paul McGreevy for writing in simplified manner but for making it an enjoyable read and strengthening the bond between my dog and me.

5.0 out of 5 stars #1 Book If You Want To Understand Dogs, No Nonsense, Dog Reality 13 Dec 2011
By Bill Baehr - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I've read many books on dogs and this book is #1 in importance and value if you want to understand dogs. I learned more about the science of dogs from this book than any other. It's amazing that this book is not the #1 dog book best seller on Amazon. Beats all the anthropomorphic, dog whispering, psychobabble, mysticism, folklore, and other doggie nonsense by a mile.
4.0 out of 5 stars A decent book 28 Aug 2014

This is a good book. A fun read. Didn't really learn anything.
