Format: Paperback
This book starts with an introduction to modern quilting, followed by some essential techniques such as squaring your blocks, matching diagonal seams, sewing curved seams, paper piecing, zips and appliqués. Each of these techniques come with colour photos of every step as well as written instructions.

Then we get onto the projects themselves. The quilts incorporate traditional quilt blocks like log cabins, Dresden plates and flying geese but give them a modern twist. Many of the quilts are simple to make, relying on the use of colour to make them stand out, meaning this book would be suitable for beginners. For most of the traditional techniques there is not only a quilt but also a quilted mini projects such as a table runner, cushion or placemats which is great for those who don't want to commit to a full size quilt.

The projects and quilts are bright, colourful and inspiring, as is the book with large colour photos and diagrams throughout. I can honestly say I want to make almost everything in this book! Now where to start....
