Volume One and Two are the instructions for what we can do if we have the wish and apply some effort. Volume Three is a presentation of the prayers which are the method for accomplishing our goal. What beautiful ways of thinking. Thank you to Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for including the complete path to enlightenment in the book Modern Buddhism - the paths of Sutra and Tantra.

I've been interested in the concept of Buddhism for quite a while (even though I am completely addicted to coffee so have failed already) and I learned lots of small ways in which I can make my attitude to people, animals and the planet a lot better and hopefully make some small difference .
The book is written in an easy style taking the reader step by step through the concepts of Buddhism, it's not too long but long enough to be thought provoking, and once you have enjoyed this book there are two more in the series to look for.

For my full review please refer to volume 1 of this ebook. The original paper edition of this book has been made available by the author without charge as a kindle book (amazon insist on a small fee), but in the electronic format it is split into 3 different eBooks, of which this is the third and final volume.

Volume 3, Prayers for Daily Practice - includes essential prayers and practices. They are prayers to promote healing (physical, mental and emotional), for developing wisdom and compassion, prayers to help overcome obstacles and difficulties and all are methods to receieve inspiration and inner peace by connecting with Buddha's blessings. These can be recited by anyone and whatever their faith, these practices can bring great peace and inspiration. The poetic and succinct words and imagery are also a great framework for getting a deeper understanding of the teachings in the other volumes of the book. Some of these prayers are open to everyone like the Liberating Prayer, Prayers for Meditation, and the Tara and Avalokiteshvara sadhanas. Some of the other practices in Volume 3, require specific Buddhist blessings to be practiced. These must be given by a qualified teacher (as I mentioned in my comments on Volume 2 of the book).

First, we must purify our mind to eliminate the negative karma we have accumulated in the past, because if we do not purify this karma it will obstruct the growth of Dharma realizations. Second, we need to give our mind the strength to support the growth of Dharma realizations by accumulating merit. Third, we need to activate and sustain the growth of Dharma realizations by receiving the blessings of the holy beings. "e;
