Format:Paperback
This concise book is excellent for students studying at Advanced Level. It covers all the key periods and events in European history, including cause and consequence approaches. In comparison to other history texts it is far more explanatory, directing the reader towards questions that should be asked when studying a topic. This book includes timelines and key terms to consolidate a students understanding. The format is clear and if you are looking for a particular event, like the Rome-Berlin axis, it has a concise explanation of why it was formed, when and the consequences. It has everything that the typical student would want to know, without being superfluous. I recommend this book, it is worth every penny. It is an excellent reference book not only for studies but for the general reading too.

I am studying an Open University History Degree and have just bought this book. Although aimed at an A-level course, it also covers the period I am studying and is proving invaluable. The book provides potted biographies of key people and also provides many exercises for the student to reinforce the text.

Excellent book, recommended.
