Models and Constructs is exactly what the subtitle says it is - margin notes to a design culture. A look at the life and work of an important figure in British modernist design, in his own words. It provides a fascinating and honest look at the collision of ideals and reality, of the kinds of compromises and the places where the dogma stands. It is, I suppose, a documentation of someone's attempts to build upon, and engage with, the ideas and ideals of the modern movement. It's a very human story and recommended for any designer.
