5.0 out of 5 stars Golden Oldie - 1 27 Dec 2011
This DVD was purchased for my partner and he is really pleased with it because it includes some 'classsic' layouts from the 1980's, 'layouts which still compare favourably with todays best layouts'. The great Bob Symes is lead presenter/mc and gives a wonderful commentary on the layouts (my partner is a big fan of Bob Symes - who ex 'Tomorrow's World' and 'Model World' presenter).

There are some wonderful late 1970's early 1980's fashions and decor, yet that adds to the nostelgia!

In this DVD there are layouts such as 'Borchester Market' recently, (at the time of writing - 2011) purchased and restored, the rich man's toy that was 'Bromford and High Peak' (a vast 7mm scale layout with many hand-built finescale models - owned by the late and great Col. R. Hoare, Ferrari importer and gentleman benefactor of several highly skilled modellers of 7mm finescale) and the Model Railway Club's superb 'Chiltern Green' (2mm finescale layout and precursor to 'Copenhagen Fields) - all pioneering work! With Bromford and High Peak one could only be invited to view the model due to the cost of the layout and the subsequent cost of insuring such too (the insurers set out various terms and conditions in terms of not revealing the layout's location/ownership and as such the owner then had to be very careful about who could view this superb model-so a very rare film of this layout and it's priceless rolling stock).

In this DVD, Shirley Rowe (Dave and Shirley Rowe are two highly skilled award winning modellers) demonstrates her method of making superbly realistic model trees - to scale.

Recommended viewing at a great price.
