4.0 out of 5 stars It keeps me grooving..... 22 Feb 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
This album is definitely worth buying! It consists of 23 highly valuable stompers and I must say that Woody Herman's "Hush" is ace. Not forget to mention stunning "Psychedelic Sally" by Eddie Jefferson which is also my favourite track on the "Blow up a go go"-Sampler. The "poor" rating 4 out of 5 stars is only caused to the fact that this album isn't available on vinyl....

3.0 out of 5 stars Could be better... 2 Aug 2004
By Tim E
Format:Audio CD
I'm going to have to disagree with the other two reviewers, I feel that, like the second in the series (Mo' Mod Jazz) this lacks a little "je ne sais quoi" - granted there are one or two tracks here that are great dancers - as someone mentioned: Ella F's temptations cover, Jackie Wilson & The Counts version of "Uptight" and Andy Williams "House of Bamboo" all come to mind, but generally the album is a dissapointment and still not hitting the spot like the first in the series did..

5.0 out of 5 stars STOMPING MOD TUNES 22 Dec 2000
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
This is a sure shot from the first track to the last. Special mention has to go to Ella F for her rendition of the Temptations classic 'Get Ready' (It's an absolute stomper!) and Shimmy (a classic Mod anthem). A must buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mo Mod and less Jazz 21 Dec 2013
Format:Audio CD
The best in the series for me because it's slightly, dare I say it, less "jazz" than the others in the series, with a bit more of a bluesy, soul / funk edge (which is entirely a matter of personal taste). Some storming tracks from Woody Herman, Ella F, Bobby Bland including some fantastice reditions of well know songs - Uptight, I Heard it Through the Grapevine, Light My Fire, Fever etc.

My wife and I were on vacation in Barcelona, Spain. I was in a department store and heard this album. I had to buy it. The music is clean and crisp. If you like blues fusion or just great music. Get this. Awesome!!!!
