A bumper book of all-new gags from the hit BBC2 comedy show

Book Description

Now in its seventh year, Mock the Week is the biggest comedy show on BBC2, regularly drawing 5 million viewers every week and making stars of Frankie Boyle, Dara O'Briain and Russell Howard. Packed with enough jokes to fill a whole new series, Mock the Week: This Year's Book! is a colourful riot of near-the-knuckle humour; the perfect gift for the show's devoted fans this Christmas. Categories include: UNLIKELY DICTIONARY DEFINITIONS: Fart (noun) – expulsion of trapped methane from the anus, possibly the funniest thing ever. UNLIKELY AGONY AUNT LETTERS: Dear Agony Aunt, I keep getting dangerous advice from hugely unqualified people – what do you suggest I do? CARDS YOU NEVER SEE IN A NEWSAGENT’S WINDOW: Child Minder Available – He may be small, but he’s rock hard. UNLIKELY OBITUARIES: Died suddenly and peacefully on an electric chair at the New York State Penitentiary. UNNERVING THINGS TO HEAR IN A MEDICAL EXAM: ‘So how bad is this premature . . . eeearrgh!’ UNSUCCESSFUL JOB APPLICATIONS: You must hire me, before I kill again!

This book isn't funny at all - not even a tiny amount - it's got nothing to do with mock the week apart from the name on the front. Horrific - not sure why some people have given this 5 stars - they must have had a frontal lobotomy - which is what I'd like to have to obliterate it's existence from my memory.......

waste of money 14 May 2010
Format:Hardcover
i love the tv programme , but the book takes only slightly longer to read than an episode on tv, and it isnt that funny in print , it loses a lot without the interaction of the comedians, do yourself a favour get the dvd instead the book is overpriced anyway

I wouldn't insult the wit or intelligence of even a hormonal 16 year old by giving him/her this collection of puerile one-liners, none of which is even remotely funny (not even the ones referring to bodily functions).

Amusement for the loo!
This book is as you'd expect, full of one liner funnies. My only disappointment was that it wasn't written by the comedians in the T.V. Read more

Mostly quite lame (there also seems to be some comedy plagiarism)
If you have ever made any form of joke yourself, you could probably compete with most of the material in this book.

Great laugh out loud moments, BUT...
It would be nice to have more input from the regulars on the show. It seems to just be cobbled together without any reference to the guys who make the jokes week in week out. Read more

If it's a laugh you want....
Whilst some of the facetiousness here is probably best described as bordering on the lavatorial on occasion, there is still much to find amusing in the round-up of all the... Read more
