5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book for UXers 28 Sept. 2014
In past 2 years, I worked as a UX prototyper in mHealth (Mobile Health) and proud to finish 16 different big and small projects base on Axure for giant corporations. I read all Axure books in the market and always use them as tools and reference to deliver better jobs. Hennings’s book by far is the best Axure book available and no matter how savvy you are in Axure, definitely you will something to learn, use and enjoy. Strongly recommended.

It doesn't matter what your experience level with Axure is, this book will teach you something that you didn't know before. Although it specializes in mobile prototyping you can use the tips and tricks across platforms. Its put in simple words with simple examples to deliver some really powerful skills. I would recommend this book to anybody who deals with the process of designing for mobile on axure. Tip: if you master this book you will definitely land a better job when you looking for one ;)

4.0 out of 5 stars helpful guide for axure 10 Sept. 2014
I was searching for help on azure mobile template setup and came across lennarts azure for mobile. I think it is a really good resource and perhaps one of its kind covering axure like this. Good scenario based teaching methodology. It does touch upon android app as well which is what I was after. Perhaps if it had covered android in more detail would have been great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Useful information for beginners and experts alike 7 April 2014
By Barbara Ballard - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
This book goes far beyond what you can find in the normal array of online resources like It provides a number of recipes for key mobile-specific topics such as dynamic panel prototypes. Honestly, the section on setting up your prototype for different device types may be worth the price of the book by itself.

In addition to the great Axure resources, the author provides links and references to more general topics in design, both mobile and general. For example, if you have noticed the grid setup in Axure but aren't quite sure what to do with it, this book provides the information on how to use grids in Axure and links to great resources on how and why to design with grids.

The second edition has been completely updated for Axure 7.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential for anyone doing mobile prototyping seriously 14 May 2014
By Phil - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
I've been using Axure for almost 7 years and can safely say that there are not many things that I haven't been able to prototype with it. Whether it's B2B big data dashboard, responsive sites or mobile apps, the tool has been a trusty helper!

As such it is as powerful as your skills to use it.

While I didn't think there'd be much to learn for me still, this book has provided me with useful insights and tricks that have improved my mobile prototyping.

As a UX designer I strongly believe that interacting with your designs is always better than reading about them in PDF and this book has helped me to improve my designs.

While some things might be a little too advanced for the casual user, I think it's essential reading for anyone using Axure for mobile prototyping.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well written, informative, complete. The go to book about Axure & Mobile. 14 Aug. 2014
By Daniel Souza - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
As an Axure user for 7 years, it's the first book i found that contains a lot of valuable information that isn't available freely online.
Even the basic topics about what/why/how to prototype are very useful. The book covers all you need to know to master mobile prototyping.

The two appendices "Best Practices" and "Tips/Tricks" are awesome.
5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME Axure book! Very well written, and extremely informative. 19 Aug. 2014

For most of my 15+ years of my UX career, I have used an array of wire framing tools. In recent years I started using Axure. For the most part I have generally 'hacked' my way through in terms of using the product to make it do what I need to represent. I have however longed to find the patience and discipline to read a book that can step-by-step guide me, with contextual examples. This book has arrived in my career with impeccable timing. I'm not only trying to more effectively learn to utilize Axure, but I also need to get more knowledgable on doing mobile prototyping. The author has effectively layered levels of information starting from fundamentals, such as mobile phone basic that are useful in weighing in design considerations. Within each chapter, the author provides relevant and very useful references in the footer to help pull together numerable tacit concepts and guidelines, such as references to mobile HIGS (Human Interface Guidelines). Additionally, the book lays out how to set up Axure, which is useful if you are new to prototyping for different mobile form factors. The systematic way in which the author provides guidelines is refreshing. The author's writing style flows well, with excellent UX hints and best-practice suggestions weaved in throughout each chapter as relevant to the topic. Having gone through the book once, I now plan on dissecting and applying the guidelines to prototype for a mobile device. I feel like this book as removed the intimidation factor, and makes the process appear less daunting. I highly recommend this book, and can't wait to dig deeper to refine my Axure mobile skills!
