For this 15th edition the content has been completely revised, updated and extended once again. It has been published in late February 2015.
Learn how to enter the app business and how to do your first steps as a developer for iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Firefox OS, Java ME or Windows smartphones and tablets. More than 20 writers from the mobile community share their know-how in dealing with topics such as accessibility in mobile apps, UX design, mobile analytics, prototyping, cross-platform development, native development, mobile web and app marketing.

This is a non-profit project by the German app agency Enough Software from Bremen, Germany. They coordinate the project and also offer the book as a free hardcopy or pdf available on their website: www.enough.de

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent approach for New Developers 14 Feb. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This must be one of the best books I've read about Mobile Development

It will help any new developer from the beginning to the end of designing any application for one or several app stores, as well as monetisation of your app, how to handle social media and stores.

It has excellent references about every content in the book, and even has a lot of comparing tables that helps to visualise what they are talking about.

Great Book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Introductory Guide with Good Hyperlink Reference Leads 18 April 2014
By Tinfoot - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If taken as an introductory guide and initial reference lead, MOBILE DEVELOPER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY is a currently updated, relevant, practical place to start. Each chapter is clearly written in logical order with internal footnoted hyperlinks to appropiate reference sources at the end of each chapter. In no way comprehensive, one should take MOBILE DEVELOPER'S GUIDE as an overview of OS and each of their respective Market Share, Available Design Elements, Development Tools, and other critical considerations such as monetization and security. In this respect it is a "guide to the galaxy" by showing the reader where to possibly go next in the quest to make the next Killer App.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good beginner introduciton 25 Jun. 2014

Solid broad overview. Suitable as beginner introduction to the mobile app development world.
5.0 out of 5 stars A small book, very good as far as it goes 20 May 2015
By Dan J - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A little book with some very good information.

What I really liked about the book is that it discusses the larger question of requirements analysis and design. This isn't focused on just mobile development, so it is some text that could be used by any software developer in any kind of project.

As a small volume though, it doesn't contain as much detail about some of the mobile specific issues as I might have expected from the title. A very worthwhile investment of time ... well worth reading.
3.0 out of 5 stars Know what you must download to start developing 8 July 2014

It's a good guide to know where to start, and I mean "where", not "how".
