Product Description

The Mizuno Wave Sayonara Running Shoe delivers mile after mile of light, cushioned, stable fun. Featuring The Mizuno U4iC Wave midsole which has been designed to be unlike other shoe technologies, when your foot touches the ground Wave reduces and redirects impact forces away from the foot. Acting a lot like your car's suspension, it cushions and keeps your foot centered in the shoe throughout your stride. Mizuno are gearing different shoes to fit the unique stride of different runners, through the development of multiple wave shapes. So if its a local jog or running past the 20 mile marker, Wave will always feel amazing underfoot. Also featuring a G3 outsole, a new performance outsole component that enhances grip and traction, while reducing the shoes overall weight. Mizuno Intercool which is a full length ventilation system in the sole of the shoe to remove heat and humidity away from the foot, ensuring you a cool, dry comfortable ride. SmoothRide is another technology Mizuno have managed to cram in to the Wave Sayonara designed to give the most fluid, smooth, rocking chair like motion in every step. Flex grooves in the heel promote natural movement from the back of your foot to the front. Flex controllers in the forefoot smoothly continue the roll forward giving your foot a more solid platform at toe-off. The Wave Sayonara is constructed with an AIRmesh upper to maintain a high standard of breathability, allowing the foot to stay cool. The X-10 sole provides Mizuno's most durable carbon rubber, allowing for longer wear in high impact areas and enhances traction at heel strike.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome running shoe! 17 Aug 2013
Colour Name:Blue| Size Name:8.5 UK|Verified Purchase
I've always been a big fan of Mizuno and when I saw this shoe being marketed earlier this year I waited with anticipation. Early reviews showed promise and I took the plunge last week and......well what awesome shoes!!

The seamless upper is a joy on the feet and the slightly wider than normal (normal for Mizuno that is) toe box feels fab and really allows your toes to spread out. The new lighter foam and usual wave plate design make for fast, stable and quick transitioning shoe with the perfect amount of cushioning. They are really light (almost racer light), but give enough support for the longer runs, in fact I'd be happy to run either a 5km or half marathon in them! The laces are brill too, they have a locking feature which means no need for a double knot.

Anyone considering these I'm sure won't be disappointed if they buy them.

Usual good Mizuno quality despite its low weight. Use as a race shoe and get a full season out of this well made shoe.

Despite its low weight there does not seem to be any compromise in the build quality and the shoe gives plenty of support and protection.

Definately geared towards the lighter runner though.

I bought these shoes for our son who is a collegiate runner with over 100 miles a week in training runs. With this mileage, we go through many pairs of running shoes. Out of the many trainers and racing flats that he owns, these Sayonaras are his new favorites. The following is his review.

"The Sayonara is a neutral performance shoe with a lightweight design (8.1 oz). As a training shoe, it provides a springy, responsive ride with enough cushioning to hold up over my long distance runs. I have a bit of an over-pronation issue with one foot and this shoe provides sufficient stability.

As far as sizing, they appear to run fairly true to size when held length-to-length with my various other trainers. However, for some reason, they feel slightly large to me when on my feet. Not so much so that they'll give me a problem while running; but I may order my next pair a half size smaller for that reason."

(Mom again) I ordered the Sayonara in the blue color which sounds pretty basic. On the Mizuno website, the color is listed as "Dude Blue / Anthracite / Bolt." Not sure if it's the "dude" in the blue...but, appearance-wise, they're very snazzy looking shoes.
