This book throws a curve ball at the traditional stance for mix technique. Eventually you will use everything in this book and absorb it into your own practice. It will give you the confidence to use your ears and trust your judgement. It wount replace everyother textbook but it will help everything fall into place.

The Best! (And a correction for AMAZON!!!) 13 May 2013
By E. Bassingthwaighte - Published on Amazon.com
This book opened my ears in ways I had never dreamed of, and helped me unlock my own mixing abilities to a whole new level. Not only great concepts, but also chock full of practical tips! There is so much meaty information, not a wasted word, and so much gold. Buy it, and own a lifetime of experience engineering and mixing at the highest levels.

BUT- please be aware that amazon has never stocked this book (I know the author, he is my friend) so it is misleading for them to say that it is "out of stock". Mixing With Your Mind has never been out of print, so if you want it, google the title, and buy it direct from Stav.

The best book ever written on mixing 9 Jan 2013
By Ssound - Published on Amazon.com
Ive read several books, there is no other like this one, it is the holy grail of mixing books, if you had to read only one mixing book, this is the one. Ive exchanged e-mails with the author, he is an extremely modest, cheerful, helpful guy.

The techniques covered in this book are nothing like the ones found in other books, you wont find stereotypical charts and comments that you can find in every mixing book, it tackles more the inner self rather than the "press this button or turn this knob". It makes you think about what you are hearing and interpret it to mix, its even almost metaphysical.
Bloody brilliant 25 Jun 2014

Tons of great information and things about mixing that were so simple you never though of them.

An absolutely fantastic piece of literature to add to any audio professional or amateur's collection. Heck, it's even fun to read if you don't know anything about audio.

I couldn't have expected that this book would be so helpful! This book is unlike any other on that subject! It contains unusal advices and techniques to make your sound in studio above any expectations! Covering mic placing for every instrument and how to make it sound natural and 3D :) Each page of this book was a revelation to me! I'd recommend "Mixing with Your Mind" to any person who's involved in making and producing music!

There is no better book to up your recording game than this. One of the few books I go back to time and time again over the years and always pick up something new. Fantastic.
